When I'm in the wilderness it won't end up well. I think the easiest thing for me in the wilderness is collecting berries and plants. Maybe I could start a fire if I try really hard. I really can't kill anything so that would be a challenge. I need to learn how to hunt in case I ever get stuck in the woods. As you can see I wouldn't survive in the woods.
My character's name is Livvie. She is 15 years old. she lives in the beautiful contry called Australia. She has 10 people in her family, her mom, dad, and her seven brothers and sisters. is very thoughtful and caring to her family. Occasionally she goes out and surf on the weekends but usually she goes out and helps out in the hospital. She is very proud of her medical abilities. She has been helping out in the hospital for 5 years now and she is very talented at leaning what doctors do. The most embarassing thing had was messing up a surgery and had to call in the doctor to do it.
It was a dark and stormy night in 2068! Lightnings occasionally pierces through the sky. Soldier were lined up to get ready for the war. you can see the frightened look on every one's faces. dusts are flying every where and sometimes it makes a dust wall. Families were pulled apart, and because of all the nuclear weapons, animals are dying! All the people were wishing each other luck at the war. Some people are also praying for their husband or dad to come back home safely! Is this really what life is gonna be like from now on? Or can we ever bring back peace! My story is kind of dystopic because the setting is kind of depressing and it's kind of set in the future!
I read the people of sparks and shiver. In shiver Sam was experiencing great pain when he was trying to resist his body to turn into a wolf. I could connect that to the third book/movie of Harry Potter when professor Lupin was trying really hard to fight the fact that he needs to turn into a werewolf. I can feel that when he is trying he is experiencing great pain. That was the text to text connection. Shiver is a great book, it is very exciting.
In the book The People of Sparks the people living there didn't have much food and resources for themselves. Then the people from Ember came in hope of finding a place to build a new city the people of sparks said that they could stay in their city until they are able to live by themselves more people began to starve. I could connect that with the countries that are living in poverty. Almost everybody don't have enough to eat and they can hardly survive. Just like the refugees from Ember. Those people are living a really difficult life. When the People of Ember first discovered the unknown city everything was so new to them. They didn't know anything about the world beyond, they didn't even know what the sun was. I had the same feeling when I first came to Canada. I didn't know a lot of English. I didn't know where everything is, and going to school in a complete English environment was so terrifying. I think the people of Ember felt the same way. I think the city of Ember is really like this, the ceator of Ember are refugees from the world above which had a major disaster. Down in the city of ember Lina and Doon knew that the city's resources are running out so they go against the law to find the unknown world. they discovered new things and finally got out to the unknown world, there they saw the city of ember is completely underground and sent them a message saying that they have found a new world. I think the city of Ember has a lot of Dystopian novel features.
